The Holy Spirit and Water

Your first and last line of defence against sin and disease

(All verses taken from the NKJV)

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. (Genesis1:1) Roughly 70% of water covers the surface of the earth and the human body is roughly 70% water. In Genesis 2 from verse 6 we read,’ but streams[b] came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground. Then the Lord God formed a man[c] from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. We than were made from watery ground and received the breath of Life (The Holy Spirit).’  It is the Spirit who gives life.’ John6:63.

So, right from the beginning of mankind, the spirit and water go hand in hand. No matter how spiritual you may look or sound, if you don’t drink water, you’ll die very soon. If you don’t maintain the water levels in your body, you’ll become unwell.

It is the Spirit of God that raised Jesus from the dead and he left us the same Spirit to live by when He went to His Father. We can’t live a fulfilling life without the spirit. We can’t resist the devil without the holy Spirit. It was the Spirit who empowered Jesus to resist the devil on the mountain. Matthew 4:1,’ Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

One of the requirements for the Spirit to live in us, is to have a well-watered stomach so that streams of living water can flow from our belly. Although some translations use heart instead of belly. To me it’s just an interchange between water and spirit. The spirit from the heart and the water from the belly. The belly(stomach) is a mini-earth or garden if you like. The human gut microbiota refers to the diverse community of microorganisms, including bacteria, fungi, viruses, and archaea, that reside in the gastrointestinal tract. (Google). Sounds to me like the things you’ll find in a garden, and we all know the importance of water to maintain life in a garden. Everything will just die off without water and with insufficient water you’ll be looking at a miserable garden or human being for that matter.

The enemy is the king of the desert. Not much water or life there. People naturally don’t go live in the desert. The Israelites had a tough time in the desert and practically all died there. They had a leanness and lack, and it was only when Joshua and his men crossed the Jordan that they started to strive again. God provided for them, but they tried to do their own thing and it never worked.

Satan took Jesus to the desert to tempt Him and showed him all the glory of the world which were in the desert. If Jesus was not full of the Spirit and if His microbiota were unbalanced and dry, he would have craved for the bread Satan presented to Him. A well-watered soul (Spirit) and a well-watered microbiota (your gut, your garden of Eden) is an absolute requirement for a well-functioned person.

When you fast, it should not be to twist the arm of God. He knows how important a well-maintained garden of Eden works. He knows that the balance in the gut get disturbed by all kinds of things we’re feeding it. So, when you fast and drink water you bring life and order back in a delipidated garden. A garden which makes you look and feel lethargic like a real neglected garden.

How much water? When your garden is neglected, you’re sick and diseased, then more water. If you feel healthy and energised, enough to keep up the garden. Some are not big water drinkers, so a lot of water dense fruit and veg will definitely help. Be led by the Spirit. He is your Helper, Counsellor, and Advocate.

In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit I pray that we remain blessed with the presence of the Holy Spirit and a healthy and striving body. AMEN.

CREATIVITY IS GOD-LIKE

The very first thing Scripture reveals about God is not that He saves, judges, delivers, or commands.

The first portrait we are given is simple and profound:

“In the beginning, God created…” — Genesis 1:1

Before God is revealed as Father, Shepherd, Healer, or King —
He is revealed as Creator.

He imagines.
He forms.
He shapes.
He calls things forth.
He brings order out of chaos.
He creates solutions for darkness with a simple word: “Let there be…”

So hear this:

When you create…
you are behaving like your Father.

WE CREATE BECAUSE WE BEAR HIS IMAGE

Genesis says we are made in His image and likeness.

That means creativity isn’t a personality type.
It’s not “for artistic people.”
It’s not reserved for the naturally gifted.

Creativity is the imago Dei in action.

It is divine nature expressed through human stewardship.

Your ability to imagine, design, organise, build, innovate, solve problems, or shape ideas…

Those are not random abilities.

They are signs that the fingerprint of God is on your life.

You create because He creates.

SPIRIT-FILLED BELIEVERS SHOULD BE THE MOST CREATIVE PEOPLE ON EARTH

This part is so often overlooked.

When God filled Bezalel with the Spirit in Exodus 31, the result wasn’t prayer or prophecy, instead it was creativity!

  • craftsmanship

  • design

  • innovation

  • wisdom

  • excellence

  • structure

  • beauty

The Spirit didn’t make him louder.
The Spirit made him creative.

The Holy Spirit empowers believers to build the very things Heaven wants to release on the earth.

So this means something powerful:

If you are born again,
if the Spirit of God lives in you,
if Christ dwells in your heart…

Then creativity is not only in you —
it should be activated at a higher level than the world has ever seen.

Not forced.
Not fabricated.
Not competitive.

But Spirit-breathed.

CREATIVITY IS KINGDOM EXPANSION

When believers create in response to the Spirit, the Kingdom advances because creation is not self-expression, it is obedience.

  • Books disciple people you will never meet.

  • Courses solve problems in families you will never step into.

  • Workshops bring clarity to believers who are stuck.

  • Frameworks give language to people who’ve been confused.

  • Products and programs become vehicles of transformation.

This is how Heaven touches earth.

Not only through sermons…
but through Spirit-inspired creation.

Every time you create something that solves a real problem in someone’s life, you bring the Kingdom of God into that part of society.

This is why your creativity matters, because it is not just creativity:

It is ministry.
It is obedience.
It is kingdom work.
